So I spent the afternoon assembling more Thunder wolves. I also cleaned the mold lines (the best I can) from the previous ones and the ones today.
I got the sand glued to the bases and they are ready for priming. I have another box to build but they can wait until my magnets come in. I also got these fenrisian wolves built too.
Not very impressed with those models by the way. I used some goblin wolves I had laying around to flesh out the unit.
Originally I was going to make these as "Grot Thunder wolves" but couldn't bring myself to do that. anyhow. I hope to put paint to model in the next couple of days.
I had to visit my local GW to get the rundown on these paint conversions. Yeesh so complicated. In any event the paint was secured, and models purchased and I am eager to bring some life to these gray models.
Watching bad Syfy channel movies actually helps me to focus on these while I work on them. My favorite so far is Mansquito, Mega Shark series, and now Stonehenge Apocalypse. Lol!

Thunderwolf Update.
Tonight I got 7 models built. I magnetized some of the storm shield wielders. The thunder hammer guys will always have that shield, so it's glued in place.
The Wolf Lord was a bad miscast of fine cast. I had to give him a different set of arms.I used the double handed axe from the SW Battleforce kit. I have quite a few more to build this weekend. Canis is on order as are the extra fenrisian wolves. More building tomorrow.

All Thunderwolves, All the time!
I am still building the models and getting them ready I'll post about the progress this week. I am really excited about this project! I have magnetized some the model's arms already so that I can have different configurations.
So some gaming guys are holding a tournament in June at Dream Wizards in Rockville, MD. this is being run by the Beltway Gamers.
So close friends of mine know that I have a love for werewolves, monsters, and giant creatures. So when these new GW Thunderwolf models came out, I kinda went overboard. I got a ton of these. Now since I suck at gaming, 40K in particular, and have no chance of winning any tournament that I play in, I have decided to take a fun army. I am going to pack as many ThunderWolves as I can into my army and get them painted up! Scoring units be damned!
If I can't win, neither will you! Ha! ;) This will look so awesome on the table I think. I am going to paint all the riders in the Woodland Rangers theme of Rucksack Tan, washed with Devlan Mud. My Woodland Rangers are also "Timber Wolves". I use them as either Space Wolves or Vanilla marines. I like to paint models I do not have painted in different lists. That way I have a core of models painted that I will almost always use.
I know that if I do not take any units that can score, then I'll have to use Canis Wolfborn. I'll probably use him anyway just to keep the theme going. Harald Deathwolf will be the wolf Lord of choice, joined by his mates.
Not going to worry about "meta" whatever that means, Grey Knights, IG, DE or any other army. I making my list and playing it! I expect to get clubbed mightily, but as an old walrus. I'm too old to be a baby seal. ;)
For this tournament which you can see below, my goal is to "win' the coveted CYBO-SKULL award. That award is what Dream Wizards gives out as it's smoking boots award.
I do expect to win zero games. Knowing that going in, gives me the ability to do crazy stuff and just go all out to have fun, with no stress.

Grot Knight army pictures
So here are some pictures of the "Grot Knight" army I made. The squigoths are land raider redeemers:
The squig hounds are Death kult assassins
The Grot tanks are twin-linked Heavy bolter razorbacks.
Coteaz with magnetized wound markers.
Librarian in terminator armor.
Venerable Dreadnoughts.
The army..
Below are W.I.P. of "Paladins". I used the lights from the bastion kits as the base . I then used whatever bitz in my bitz box to make these.

Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
Wow he lives! OK, OK. I know it's been a long time but here goes. Last years I had a house move to make, almost got divorced, and was convicted of first degree homicide. Only one of those things is false. ;) I have just been busy really. Some disinterest had brewed and some sourness on the hobby of miniature games. I actually had to sit down and think about why I play the games, paint the models and all of the accompanying things that go with that. I simply wasn't having fun anymore.
I just got sour on the game and then became a recluse. Having to move in the middle of November did not help things either. Now that I am settled and somewhat stable, I can get down to it again. While I was away from the web I was able to build and paint somethings. Though trying as it was, I fought through the rough patch and created a counts-as grey Knights army for Warhammer 40K.
This army is called the Grot Knights army! They are made using all grots/goblins. It is a spoof army of any internet list that I find. I had several lists in mind. IG Leafblower, Space Wolves Mech/missile Spam, Mephiston/Razor Spam, etc. I settled on a list by a guy named Neil G. of the 11th Company. I liked his list as it was One, easy to make. Two it had very few models, and Three had the ability to become any other GK/IG list I wanted. For example I can make Storm Ravens as Vendettas or as Storm Ravens. The squiggoths I used for Land Raiders can double in my Ork army as battlewagons.
So here is some WIP shots of the army. There are some painted ones too. I'll post tomorrow with the "group" shot. I have a lot of stuff to post in the next few weeks. Hordes, WH40K and more!
Stay Tuned! Enjoy the pictures.

Vanguard Veterans WIP
In Keeping with my Woodland Rangers theme, I've decided to add some new units to the list. My first thought was about the majestic, brave, and very bold, Bald Eagle. I wanted an animal that would embody what the Vanguards are supposed to be all about. So I had an idea to use the Space Marine Commander backpacks as helmets for the Vanguards.
I grabbed a few of these and cut them up. In keeping with the Eagle theme, I used the Sanguinary Guard kit. I felt their wings wold be perfect for what I was going for. I started some work on the models but I will only do one for now to see how it comes out.
I have also gotten shields from Chapter House Studios. They have some really nice things there. The shields will act as Storm Shields. I have all the weapons and arms magnetized for full functionality.
I plan on painting those shields separately. This model will be the "test" model today. Being mostly brown as the Bald Eagles are, I'll need to make the shield a stark contrast to break up the monotony.
I'll keep this updated this week.

Cryx painting update #2
Today I just finished painting a Seether. He is not exactly built the way it comes in the package due to me getting this second hand, there are a lot of spikes and things missing. I can live with that. Right now I have the Nightwretch up next. I'm going to work on Skarre a bit today too I think.
I'd like to add a Deathjack to my army but I am waiting for them to produce it in plastic first. Good luck with that as they say.
